New York, NY. Nixon Peabody LLP has expanded its Corporate Trust team with the addition of partner Elizabeth Taraila, who brings a range of experience from her in-house counsel, business, and law firm roles.
Based in Nixon Peabody’s New York City office, Liz has more than 16 years of experience representing financial institutions in their roles as corporate trustees and agents. She handles matters involving complex debt structures and risk management and has participated in nearly all facets of global finance in connection with capital markets debt transactions, representing corporate trustees and agents globally, issuers in the US and Europe, underwriters in the US, and collateral managers in Europe.
“As the corporate trust environment continues to shift dramatically across global markets, clients depend on us to provide creative and practical guidance,” said partner Catherine Ng, co-leader of Nixon Peabody’s Global Finance practice, which includes the Corporate Trust team. “Liz’s extensive experience working in both New York and London and her deep connections will be an immediate benefit to our clients.”
Liz’s experience encompasses an extensive range of financial products, such as stand-alone bond issuances, medium-term note programs, collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and securitizations, project finance transactions, and leveraged and acquisition financing from conception and origination through amendments, distress, default, and litigation.
“Having worked in both in-house and law firm capacities across a variety of areas, Liz has built diverse perspectives on guiding corporate trustees, managing complex transactions, and mitigating risk,” said partner Robert Drobnak, co-leader of Nixon Peabody’s Global Finance practice. “We look forward to introducing Liz to our clients and colleagues.”
“Being located in the financial center of the country, we are particularly excited to expand our Corporate Trust team locally,” said Richard Langan, managing partner of Nixon Peabody’s New York City office. “Liz understands the dynamic nature of global markets, and we are thrilled to have her join us.”
